Visiting Angels senior home care serving Sonoma and Napa, California requires our caregivers to have a minimum of three years professional caregiving experience. Many of our caregivers are Certified HHAs (Home Health Aids) and Certified CNAs (Certified Nursing Assistants) which requires rigorous training, a state exam, and certification. We provide on-going quarterly training provided by the Alzheimer’s Association, Local Hospice organizations, and Physical Therapy professionals.

*For Napa County, Visiting Angels background check, screening, and hiring process EXCEEDS the Napa County Caregiver Ordinance passed in 2011. All Visiting Angels Caregivers working in Napa County will be in strict compliance with the new ordinance. We adhere to a strict four- tier hiring process.

1. An initial 12 step phone screen ensuring eligibility and professional demeanor.
2. An initial in-office application process and first interview.
3. A second “behavioral” interview.
4. A comprehensive orientation following a criminal background check, professional reference checks, and initial training and preparation for working on Visiting Angels cases.

Visiting Angels in Sonoma and Napa use Jungle Source, Inc. A nationally resepcted company in background screening. Our stringent screeings include the following criteria:

• Social Security Number Trace
• County Criminal Searches (Min 7 years)
• Federal District Searches (min 7 years)
• National Criminal Database Searches
• Motor Vehicle Report
