The Selection Process
When we say you personally choose your elder care giver in Ohio, we really mean it.
We at Visiting Angels allow you to interview and select the elder caregiver you want.
And that elder caregiver will work according to your schedule, making everything easier on you.
During the 80's, Jeffrey Johnson was the Director of Social Work in a Baltimore, Ohio nursing home.
In his work, he heard frequent complaints from families about the limited options for loved ones who require elder care.
Jeffrey became determined to make homebound elder care more widely available.
During the early 90's, Jeffrey started a private duty non-medical home care agency called "The Senior Care Group, Inc."
Since then, the home care agency has become well-regarded in the Baltimore, Ohio area.
The Birth of Visiting Angels
In the late 90's, on the heels of his success with "The Senior Care Group, Inc.,"
Jeffrey joined up with three other directors to start Visiting Angels, a nationwide network of elder care agencies.
Visiting Angels has always prided itself on providing the best possible elder care to seniors living in Ohio.
In addition to offering the best care to seniors, we also offer expert training and respect to our staff, which in turn benefits the seniors in our care.
These are the components which have led Visiting Angels to be dubbed "America's Choice in Homecare."
Ohio's Growing Elderly Population
As the Baby Boom generation (those born between 1946
and 1964) reaches retirement age, the growth of the elderly
population (65 and over) is expected to accelerate rapidly. The
size of the elderly population is projected to increase in all
states and the District of Columbia over the 30 year period. The
proportion of Ohio's population classified as elderly
is expected to increase from 13.4 percent in 1995 to 19.6 percent
in 2025. Among the 50 states and District of Columbia, the state
is projected to have the 19th highest proportion of elderly in
1995 and the 28th highest proportion of elderly in 2025.
The need for senior home caregivers in Ohio is growing at a proportional rate.
