And that elder caregiver will work according to your schedule, making everything easier on you.
During the 80's, Jeffrey Johnson was the Director of Social Work in a Baltimore, Oregon nursing home.
In his work, he heard frequent complaints from families about the limited options for loved ones who require elder care.
Jeffrey became determined to make homebound elder care more widely available.
During the early 90's, Jeffrey started a private duty non-medical home care agency called "The Senior Care Group, Inc."
Since then, the home care agency has become well-regarded in the Baltimore, Oregon area.
The Birth of Visiting Angels
In the late 90's, on the heels of his success with "The Senior Care Group, Inc.,"
Jeffrey joined up with three other directors to start Visiting Angels, a nationwide network of elder care agencies.
Visiting Angels has always prided itself on providing the best possible elder care to seniors living in Oregon.
In addition to offering the best care to seniors, we also offer expert training and respect to our staff, which in turn benefits the seniors in our care.
These are the components which have led Visiting Angels to be dubbed "America's Choice in Homecare."
Oregon's Growing Elderly Population
Since 2005, the elderly population growth
has outpaced the overall population growth rate due to cohort change and cumulative effect
of net migration. The population in this age group will start a dramatic increase once the baby-boomers enter
the retirement age. The growth rate between 2011 and 2012 will exceed 5 percent and stay
above 4 percent rate during the forecast horizon. There will be 53 percent more elderly in
2020 than in 2010.
The need for senior home caregivers in Oregon is growing at a proportional rate.
