America’s Choice In Home Care
Our Philosophy
We have always held the philosophy that we are in business to provide the best care possible to seniors as well as others who need in home care while giving total respect to the care giving staff. It's our belief that we should have the very best in training and support so that elderly clients will receive top quality care wherever the need exists. We are here to provide solutions for our clients and their families. That's why Visiting Angels is "America's Choice In Homecare".
Our Employees
Visiting Angels' caregivers are the heart of it's success. We pride ourselves in recruiting and training only the most highly qualified, mature and compassionate caregivers with the experience to serve our Clients.
We work diligently to maintain the highest standards for screening, training and monitoring our caregivers. Every caregiver we hire must consistently demonstrate a sincere and respectful desire to help our clients remain independent while providing a higher quality of life.
In 2008 Visiting Angels implemented a Dementia Care Training Program for it's employees. The program provides essential information for the safe and effective care of individuals with Alzheimer's disease and all other types of dementia. The training leads to qualification as a AFA Qualified Dementia Care Provider along with membership in the Dementia Care Professionals Association. Read more on our Dementia page.
We pride ourselves in caring about our employees. We go out of our way to make each employee feel like a part of our team. We provide incentives for improvement and recognize great performance.
All of our caregivers are employees of Visiting Angels of Southfield. We withhold all necessary employment taxes and workers compensation for each employee which relieves our clients from the burden of these liabilities.
The best measure of our performance is the contentment of our caregivers and a heartfelt thank you from our client.
Building Friendships With Families
Obviously, the most important relationship is the one between the care recipient and the caregiver. It snowballs from there to the relationship between the family and the agency and the agencies relationship to the community. It is this philosophy of “building relationships” that has made Visiting Angels successful at keeping clients.
Our goal is to improve the quality of life for those we take care of and employ. We also seek to be a complete resource for the elderly community and provide valuable resources for all aspects of their lives.
Remember, we are here to support you, not to take charge of your life. Please feel free to contact us if we can be of any assistance, and enjoy your day.
From Our Owner
As a Visiting Angels owner, I take pride in being able to offer a solution to families that helps seniors live safely and independently at home. Allow me to share one of my childhood experiences. As a child I remember going to the "hospital" on a regular basis to see my great-grandmother. We would spend a while there visiting and then it was time to go home. I recall how tense it was when it was time to go because my great-grandmother would cry and say she wanted to go home. Then my grandmother would cry. At some point in later years I figured out that the "hospital" was actually a nursing home. I know that it was quite common in the sixties for the elderly and frail to go to a nursing home. There weren't many alternatives back then. Thank goodness there are many more options available today. Even so, that image stays with me. I understand first hand how people just want to be at home.
I do recognize that everyone is not a candidate for in-home care. For many people, circumstances dictate that a nursing home or assisted living facility is more suitable. But there are many that can do very well at home with the proper support system in place. That is why I believe in Visiting Angels. In-home care presents the option of keeping loved ones at home by extending the family through the utilization of qualified, professional caregivers.
I feel privileged to be able to offer the preferred option for families to keep loved ones at home.
Sincerely,
Marcia Williams, CSA
