Caregiver Spotlight: Nancy B
Nancy B took time out of her recent vacation to talk to us about her experience in working for Visiting Angels of Auburn, NH for the past 5 years. Nancy is one of three siblings that
Previously, she held a role with the American Embassy in Berlin, Germany as the Director of Educational Services. You could say that she has held a caregiving role in the past.
Nancy shared her rewarding moment with us: The most rewarding aspect of her job is the interactions with her clients. Her clients bring joy to her day and position because of the joy they reciprocate.
Nancy has been an interictal part of the new Caregiver Mentor Program; a program that she wishes was around when she first started. Nancy encourages new and present caregivers to take advantage of the mentor program and all of its opportunities. When applying, Nancy said that it can be confusing and having a mentor during the application process would have been helpful. When a caregiver first begins there is a lot of information provided at orientation as well as the overwhelming training process for both the new caregiver and trainee. This program eases some of the onboarding that our staff must do. She mentions that having a caregiver when she first started would have helped her instead of having to learn and figure everything out on her own.
