Caregiver Spotlight: Patricia D

Our caregiver spotlight for this month features Patricia D. We are very happy to have her on our team.

Before she joined our team at Visiting Angels, Patty was actually retired. She was helping take care of her mother in law who had Alzheimer’s disease when she began to consider working again. She heard about Visiting Angels through television, word of mouth, and the internet. Caring for her mother in law gave her some of the necessary experience. She applied and the rest is history!

Patricia has done very well as a caregiver. She hasn’t just been recognized as caregiver of the month. Last year she was the recipient of the Visiting Angel’s Founder’s Award, which recognizes caregivers for their excellence.

Patty is known around Visiting Angels for her sense of humor. When we spoke with her, she reiterated the importance of being yourself around your clients. She also stressed how important it is to love your work. If you love your work, you can succeed as a caregiver!
