Caregiver Spotlight: Rachel S.

Rachel just celebrated her one-year anniversary with Visiting Angels of Auburn. After receiving her Licensed Nursing Assistant License in 2005, she gained professional experience working with seniors in facilities. After taking a brief hiatus from the field to work in the restaurant industry, she was able to come back to doing what she loves by working in home care.

Rachel finds her greatest challenge to be situations in which she wants to help but is unable to due to reasons beyond her control. However, she focuses on those times so that she can put a smile on her client's faces when she is able to help them – that makes her feel good.

Rachel would advise other caregivers to talk to those they care for as if they are people and friends, not just a patient. "Get to know them and enjoy your time together."

Fun facts about Rachel are that she enjoys staying busy – she has two kids, so she spends a lot of time staying active with them. She likes to paint and hopes to go sky diving someday. Thanks for being on our team Rachel!
