Caregiver Spotlight: Therese V

Welcome back to the caregiver spotlight! This month we are proud to shine the light on Therese. Therese is coming up on her third year with Visiting Angels. Prior to her caregiver position, she was an LNA with the Visiting Nurses Association (VNA) for 22 years. Therese has plenty of experience under her belt, and it shows.

Before her career as an LNA, Therese sold Tupperware from home to home for 12 years. When I asked her if she liked that job she re-directed me back to the fact that she had done it for 12 years.

When prompted to talk about how she started to work for Visiting Angels, Therese talked about how the office is just down the street from her home and she kept seeing the sign. She later mentioned that while working with the VNA she was on a shared case with Visiting Angels, which is where she initially learned about the services that we provide.

Therese also told us what she likes about her job as a caregiver with Visiting Angels. She stated that the other staff she works alongside are always pleasant and tend to always smile – even if they are having a bad day. Therese also says that this is good advice for new caregivers joining our angels: always go to a client with a positive attitude and dress appropriately. Your first impression is very important!

Therese says, "Don't say I can't. Say I can – and you will!"
