Visiting Angels of Auburn, NH’s Caregiver of the Month: Rick R.
Congratulations to Rick for Being Awarded Visiting Angels of Auburn’s Caregiver of the Month
Rick is fast approaching his second year with Visiting Angels of Auburn as a caregiver. Prior to coming on-board with Visiting Angels of Auburn, he worked for Granite State Shuttle Service delivering pharmaceuticals. Rick had previously taken care of relatives including his grandmother and mother-in-law, so when he saw an opportunity to get back into doing this kind of work, he took it.
Advice Rick Has for Home Care Providers
According to Rick, the hardest part of being a senior care provider is losing your client when they pass away. When he trains new caregivers, he encourages them to "do their best and enjoy the people they are working with; you never know how long they will be with us." And he says to "always put your best foot forward."
Rick finds his work with Visiting Angels of Auburn to be rewarding. It gives him something to look forward to in the morning and he enjoys putting a smile on the faces of those that he works with – they look forward to him coming and they express this to him.
You can catch Rick singing Karaoke-especially when he is alone driving in his car.
