Visiting Angels of Auburn Helps Raise Awareness and Funds for Alzheimer’s Care, Support, and Research

Our home care specialists, families and friends hold events year-round to help support our fundraising efforts.  This year, Visiting Angels of Auburn was the top team in New Hampshire, raising $40,292 of the $292,829 total amount raised at The Central NH Walk to End Alzheimer’s.  Nationally, Visiting Angels Franchise owners have raised $436,665 as a part of our National Team efforts.

Walk to End Alzheimer’s is more than a walk. It is an inspiring experience which calls participants to unite in a movement to reclaim the future for millions.  In addition to the walk, participants will learn about Alzheimer’s disease and how to get involved with this critical cause from advocacy opportunities, and the latest in Alzheimer’s research, clinical trials, support programs and Alzheimer’s care services.

Alzheimer’s disease is a growing epidemic and is now the nation’s sixth-leading cause of death. As baby boomers age, the number of individuals living with Alzheimer’s disease will rapidly escalate, increasing well beyond today’s estimated 5.4 million Americans living with Alzheimer’s.

Debra Desrosiers, Director of Visiting Angels of Auburn and Visiting Angels of Gilford comments: “our employees are proud to support Walk to End Alzheimer’s and the Alzheimer’s Association Massachusetts/New Hampshire Chapter as they continue to provide valuable support services to individuals living with Alzheimer’s and their caregivers while also supporting critically needed research. We are aware of the dramatic impact Alzheimer’s has on individuals, families and companies, so we are committed to supporting the Alzheimer’s Association and expect to continue our support until a cure is found.”

Visiting Angels of Auburn is starting their 2020 fundraising efforts and urge anyone looking to help fight this disease to join them at
