What Vermont Seniors Learn with Social Care

During our Social Care Program, our caregivers will teach seniors to use modern technology, including:

• Facebook: With 2.5 billion active users each month, many people use Facebook to connect with their friends and family. The social networking service also has a thriving senior community, with seniors being the fastest-growing age demographic on the social network. During our Social Care Program, one of our Visiting Angels will teach Vermont seniors how to create their own Facebook account and message their friends and family.
• Smartphones: Pew Research states that four-in-ten seniors own a smartphone. With so many applications to keep track of, it can be difficult to learn more about your smartphone. Our program will teach Vermont seniors many ways to use their smartphones, including calling, texting, and using its applications.
• Video calling: Whether your loved ones are down the street or across the country, video calling services can make them feel closer than ever. Our professional caregivers teach their clients how to use video calling applications such as FaceTime and Skype.
