A CNA is a licensed healthcare professional who can complete specific medical tasks under the supervision of a registered nurse. Caregivers do not provide any medical care, even in the presence of a medical professional. Caregivers are not permitted to administer medication, change bandages, cut fingernails, or change IVs.
