Certified Palliative Care

Visiting Angels' Certified Palliative Care improves quality of life by focusing on physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs. This sophisticated program goes well beyond what some think of when they hear the term palliative care.  We provide customized assistance and comfort regardless of life expectancy.

It is very common to use the terms “palliative care” and “hospice care” interchangeably.  More accurately,  these are different types of care.

Palliative care and hospice care have many similarities. At their core, both seek to relieve discomfort and improve overall quality of life. Hospice care is traditionally implemented for those who are nearing the end of life. Typically, palliative care is for anyone who needs care focused on their comfort and well-being, regardless of their life expectancy.

At Visiting Angels®, our Certified Palliative Care program is rooted in this traditional model of palliative care. Our goal is to enrich quality of life for all clients through specialized, essential personal care and assistance.

What is the Certified Palliative Care Program at Visiting Angels?

Certified Palliative Care is an integral part of the program we call our Life Care Navigation™  This is a collection of senior care services offered by Visiting Angels of Hoschton. Life Care Navigation™ also includes end of life care, which can provide your loved one with customized, comforting care and assistance during the end of life process.

The Visiting Angels Palliative Care Certification Program trains caregivers in a philosophy of care that is supportive, soothing, comforting, and which approaches care with a holistic mindset.

The program focuses on a wider range of care needs, including the physical, emotional, social, and spiritual needs of those in our care.

  • We address the physical care needs of seniors, providing essential personal care to comfort our clients.
  • We address the emotional needs with a compassionate approach, supporting seniors who may be suffering from depression, loneliness, stress, or anxiety.
  • We address the social needs of elderly adults by building relationships and encouraging interaction and conversation
  • We address the spiritual needs of seniors by restoring hope to seniors’ lives, helping them find comfort and relief from age-related difficulties and treating each client with the utmost dignity and respect.
