Teepa Snow Event for Caregivers in Lakes Region, NH

A handful of the office staff were able to attend a full-day seminar with Teepa Snow, a leading educator in dementia care. This seminar was graciously put on by Benchmark and allowed our office staff to have direct instruction from a very interactive speaker. In this session, many aspects of dementia care and our approach to care were discussed. We practiced techniques on how to best handle situations, focusing on dominant sides, and the best way to make eye contact and approach clients as well. Caregivers need to take many things into consideration when caring for their clients including personality, preferences, routines, and ensuring there is a balance that includes engaging and satisfying activities as well.

Members of the audience included family members who are personal Caregivers, staff and instructions from facilities and colleges, among many others. Taking in the many viewpoints and perspectives of care can be a benefit to our Caregivers as we want to ensure every individual does their part to help the team succeed and collaborates for the betterment of the client.
