Best Caregivers at Visiting Angels in Medford
Each year, Visiting Angels recognizes the best caregiver of the year based on characteristics that demonstrate outstanding performance as a personal care assistant. We look for the caregiver who truly embodies our brand’s values: compassion, dedication and excellent caregiving.
When a caregiver gets nominated for this award, it’s because they’ve transformed the lives of our clients for the better through exceptional in-home care.
Unwavering commitment, empathy and professionalism are as much a part of our brand as they are the values of the home aides we employ. Please join us in celebrating our local caregiver of the year and the amazing impact they’ve had in our client’s daily lives and the lives of their families!

As a true brand ambassador for Visiting Angels, Maria demonstrates our mission of providing the utmost compassion in her home care service while inspiring hope in both clients and fellow caregivers.

2023 Caregiver of the Year: Spotlight on Jane N
Kind, attentive, and a strong communicator – these are just a few of the qualities that make Jane N. such a great member of our Medford care team!
Jane has worked with our team for almost three years. She is always on time and never calls out, no matter the weather conditions. The dignity of those in her care is a top priority for Jane while maintaining a positive attitude. She’s willing to go-with-the-flow in any circumstance.
Jane has excellent communication skills and listens to what is asked of her. She will reach out to us when she has concerns regarding a client's safety and well-being. She also sends us regular updates about her client’s health on her own accord.
Compassionate Caregiver During Real-Life Situations
She is dedicated to her work and committed to her clients. For example, when her client resisted wearing oxygen and didn’t remember why they needed to wear it, Jane knew how to navigate the situation with grace and patience. On the other hand, she holds her ground with difficult clients, and even though it may be uncomfortable, she handles it with respect and kindness.
Jane has demonstrated that she has problem solving skills. When one of her clients was first put on oxygen, she learned how to navigate the tank in the home and had to begin regularly recording oxygen levels. She now makes sure the oxygen tank is working properly and can be moved wherever the client needs it.
When the client is planning to run errands around town and Jane has concerns about low oxygen levels, she will reach out, and put it on our radar. We can provide more accurate and frequent updates to the client’s family, who don’t live nearby. Jane is someone we can count on that will always notify us if there’s a problem.
Home Care Worker that Exemplifies Company Standards
Jane demonstrates teamwork time and time again, especially from a recruitment standpoint. She has a great network of like-minded caregivers. When we are looking for help, she’s the first person we ask, and she always comes through. She received one of our only referral bonuses in 2023 and the caregiver she referred has been with us for over eight months. Jane is personable in her daily life and maintains strong relationships with people.
Jane also respects our policies and procedures. When her client was having a dinner party and Jane was on call, the client wanted to thank Jane for her efforts and gave her a card with a monetary gift. We have a policy about ‘no tips and gifts’, and that we should be notified if there are gifts being exchanged. Jane notified the office about the card and gift, and it was approved by our Director. Since then, we use this scenario as a best practice in our new hire orientation training. Jane is a first-rate example of our company standards. She always leads with open communication and is someone we would trust with our own family.
Visiting Angels in Medford is always searching for the best caregivers to join our award-winning team. Our Angels go above and beyond the basic job requirements to provide empathy, compassion and dignity to our clients and their families.
