A Holistic Approach to Home Care
Well-rounded, comprehensive care is essential for aging adults. Yes, it is important that your loved one’s physical needs are met; that they take their medication, eat healthy meals, and get to their appointments safely. But it is just as important – if not more important – that their social needs are met as well.
Many seniors suffer from isolation and depression. Living alone or in assisted living facility can be lonely for seniors, especially those who have lost spouses or other loved ones. Pets can be a great way to combat these feelings of loneliness, but also be a big responsibility. At Visiting Angels, we believe our home care services should help seniors improve their quality of life and achieve happiness in their senior years. How We Can Help
As part of our companionship program, our caregivers can take dogs for walks, make sure pets have the food and water they need, and clean up any dust or hair that may build up on the floor. Caregivers can encourage your loved one to join in on walks around the block or sit outside in the sun while pets run around the yard.
We even have a client who has a miniature horse and our caregiver makes sure he gets the food, water and attention he needs whenever visiting.
Although we are not a pet sitting service, we can help to take care of your loved one’s furry friend because we understand how important pets can be to a senior’s overall well-being.
