Visiting Angels, the nation’s leading provider of in-home senior care, announces Lonni Stapanon as one of the 10 semi-finalists for its prestigious National Caregiver of the Year award. 

A natural caregiver since young adulthood, Lonni radiates positivity and never gives up, no matter the challenge. Since joining Visiting Angels Nashua, NH, four years ago, she has developed deep connections with each of her clients, taking the time to learn their backgrounds so she can bring joy to their interactions. She even says a prayer before every shift so she can have the strength to be the best caregiver her client deserves.

Lonni’s caregiving has changed lives. One of her clients with Alzheimer’s really struggled with her transition into a nursing home, calling her husband several times at night. However, with the help of Lonni, she has grown more comfortable and more sociable at the facility. 

The daughter of another client with Alzheimer’s says Lonni provides the best one-on-one care she has ever seen and adds that under Lonni’s care, she always knows her mother is safe.

The Visiting Angels National Caregiver of the Year Award celebrates the extraordinary contributions of caregivers who provide exceptional care to senior clients and their families. The 10 semi-finalists were selected from nominations nationwide, honoring caregivers who embody Visiting Angels’ caring values, demonstrate professionalism in their work, and show a commitment to improving the lives of seniors and their families.

The winner of the 2025 Caregiver of the Year award will be announced at the Visiting Angels annual conference in June. The grand prize recipient will receive $10,000, and two finalists will each receive $5,000.
