Throughout the COVID-19 world pandemic, we have seen how individuals and companies across the globe have teamed up to help those on the front lines and are most at risk.

That continues to hold true throughout Western Massachusetts and the Greater Springfield area. A group of individuals from throughout Massachusetts, New York, and even California have teamed up together to help stop the spread of Coronavirus and keep front line workers safe.

This volunteer group which originated in Massachusetts has called themselves “Massachusetts Face Shields”, and just like the name sounds, they create face shields that they then donate to front line workers of all varieties throughout the state. They use 3D printers to create the head band, and then, from the generosity of big-name corporations, use donated plastic coverings to make the shields themselves. Through clever engineering, they have even made it possible to deliver face shields that adjust to the users’ head!

This group has now grown from 2 founders to over 100 volunteers across the country, helping out in 3D printing, assembly and business development. Their website, which can be found at https://www.massfaceshields.com, even shows an interactive map of facilities that are requesting shields and the volunteers throughout the region that are helping to make this a reality.

Visiting Angels of West Springfield was fortunate enough to receive 50 donated face shields to help keep our Caregivers safe as they continue to provide essential services throughout the Greater Springfield and Hampden County area! The generosity of these individuals could very well have saved the lives of our Caregivers and clients that we continue to see on a daily basis. We are proud to be a Massachusetts based business where our community continues to show support and triumph through this tough time.
