I recognize that trying to provide in-home services can be very difficult, especially when you are trying to help two head strong women like us. But working together [with Visiting Angels], we found the most wonderful caregiver in Karen G. She has been invaluable to our family and home. Her high energy level, capable attitude and consultation have been great for me. We used VISITING ANGELS during two different periods. The first was to help Joy get organized with her personal and record keeping tasks. Then, after her accident that resulted in a two month hospital stay, Visiting Angels helped with her rehab to get back into the swing of everyday activities.
The caregiver ANGELS that were assigned to her were all exceptional. We could not have asked for more in the way of congeniality, efficiency, and sincerity. Thank you very much for the work you did to coordinate home care.

My experience with Visiting Angels (in Lake County) has been wonderful!
The level of care was exactly what my father needed. VA was flexible with our changing schedule and provided highly a talented caregiver who truly CARED for my father. VA was affordable as well.
I would strongly recommend Lake County Visiting Angels to any family needing care for an elderly family member.

I just wanted to let you know my mom and dad are settled in AZ again and today they started services with Visiting Angels. The two weeks without help seemed to make him realize how much [the Visiting Angels in Lake County] had done for them. When I asked who he had hired (which I knew because I sent Lore the information you found for me) he said, "I got the same outfit I had in Lake Forest, they did such a good job I didn't call anyone else". He also said "VA AZ is very nice and might work out as well as Visiting Angel Lake County did."
That was a HUGE compliment to all of you and I wanted to pass it on since I know there was some initial resistance in challenging his independence with needing home care services.

The Visiting Angels (Libertyville office) helped to care for my elderly mother through much of 2008 until shortly before her passing in March 2009. Every caretaker involved was kind, sympathetic and concerned for my mother's welfare. They were anxious to help in any way, and my mother was fond of each one.
I especially want to commend Margaret Maczulski and Laura Lassiter, who spent many hours organizing schedules to assure there would always be someone when needed.
My mother is now at rest, and the Visiting Angels helped to make her declining months as pleasant as possible. I will always be very grateful for that, and would highly recommend them to anyone in similar circumstances.

A year ago we noticed things about our mother that we could no longer ignore, even after her insistence of not needing any help. Your agency was the first we turned to. I was impressed from the beginning with the kind and patient manner used and your thorough screening process. You asked questions to pinpoint the types of needs that were special only to my mother… things I wasn't even thinking of.
You even offered advice in how we could help my mother see the need for such an agency specializing in home care. "Let's just try it, Mom. And if you don't like it, we can discontinue the service." I write this so that others might benefit from our experience and success. My mother turned up her nose in reluctant acceptance. After a month, she readily agreed, "Oh yes, I like the way things are going. Yes, I want to keep it this way."

Keeping my mother in her own home, with a service designed just for her needs, was a God send. The continuing communication between Visiting Angels and family helped make this a success. We adjusted for new needs, tweeking the program as necessary. If there had to be a change in care giver because of conflicting schedules, then Visiting Angels staff oversaw that change. The Owner often visited the house, checking up on things. The agency would contact me to see how my mother was adjusting.
I would highly recommend Visiting Angels to help with home care for your loved ones. It is a safe and wonderful option to assisted living facilities. I will not forget the relief I felt after getting things in place for my mother's in-home care.

First of all I would like to thank you for all your wonderful support and care that you all provided to my father and family! We would not have survived this summer and fall without your services, compassion and care. You all are truly amazing people! I am grateful for all you have done for us. I have passed along your business card to a few friends that are approaching the same type of situation as we have had this summer, or are caring for aging parents that may need services in the future.
