Local Caregiver Named Finalist for National Award

Visiting Angels, the nation’s leading provider of in-home senior care, announces Cherry Seibers as one of the 10 semi-finalists for its prestigious National Caregiver of the Year award.  

For the past 11 years, Cherry has been the heart of Visiting Angels Cookeville, TN. But her journey as a caregiver began well before that when she started volunteering at a nursing home at just 15 years old, devoting the last 20 years of her life to caring for others. Since joining Visiting Angels, she has never missed a day caring for the same client for eight years. That client even says without Cherry, his sunshine would be gone.

It’s not just about Cherry’s skills but the warmth in her heart and the nurturing environment she creates. After a client suffered an indescribable loss, the family turned to Cherry for comfort. Cherry’s clients and peers say she always finds light in the chaos.

The Visiting Angels National Caregiver of the Year Award celebrates the extraordinary contributions of caregivers who provide exceptional care to senior clients and their families. The 10 semi-finalists were selected from nominations nationwide, honoring caregivers who embody Visiting Angels’ caring values, demonstrate professionalism in their work, and show a commitment to improving the lives of seniors and their families.

The winner of the 2025 Caregiver of the Year award will be announced at the Visiting Angels annual conference in June. The grand prize recipient will receive $10,000, and two finalists will each receive $5,000.
