How Much Does Home Care Cost in Huber Heights?

Our customizable in-home care plans make it easy for you to schedule caregiver visits that meet your needs and work within your budget. At Visiting Angels in Huber Heights, we provide transparent pricing and flexible care options to meet your family's needs.

Home care services in our area typically cost between $33-$37 per hour. At Visiting Angels of Huber Heights, our rates start at $35 per hour—right in the middle of the local range. The exact costs will vary based on the level of care your loved one needs, the number of hours needed, the specific type of care, and where the individual is located. Evening and weekend hours incur a small fee.

Service Requirements:

  • Minimum weekly commitment: 12 hours
  • Minimum visit length: 4 hours per visit
  • Evening and weekend visits: May incur a small additional fee

Special Pricing: For couples needing care together, we offer a special rate starting at $45 per hour which provides significant savings compared to two separate caregivers or assisted living.

Assisted living facilities tend to require residents to pay for a range of services and round the clock care that they may not need. With Visiting Angels, family members pick dates and times, paying only the necessary hours of care each week instead of the flat fee for 24/7 care charged by an assisted living facility.

In this way, our home care is more affordable than the cost of assisted living facilities, and spares you from having to put your loved one through a difficult or traumatic residential move. Affordable home care from Visiting Angels allows your loved one to stay in their home; their familiar environment, at a potentially lower overall cost.

Paying for In Home Care

There are a few ways to pay for home care costs. Most are “Private Pay”; which is another way of saying that clients pay for Visiting Angels’ home care out of pocket using retirement accounts, IRA, pensions, social security benefits, 401K or other savings via routine payment methods like credit or debit cards and personal checks.

Long-term care insurance might help cover the costs too. It’s a type of financial coverage that reimburses policy holders up to a certain, predetermined amount to help cover the costs of home care, making it more affordable. We’re happy to assist with the paperwork needed to verify or utilize this benefit.

If your loved one is a veteran who served, he or she may be eligible for certain VA benefits that can help with the cost of home care too. To find out if a veteran qualifies, it’s best to contact the local VA office.

Visiting Angels Cost Per Month

When you choose Visiting Angels in Huber Heights for in-home elderly care, you can find peace of mind knowing your loved one will receive compassionate care from a friendly caregiver while living at home for as long as possible.

Here are a couple scenarios to help you better understand home care costs per month:

Frank, West Alexandria

Frank is 90 and still lives in his West Alexandria home where he raised his kids. His son set up care for him after Frank had a bad fall getting out of the shower last winter. They scheduled 12 hours a week spread across three days, so our caregiver comes on Tuesdays, Thursdays, and Saturdays for 4 hours each visit. Frank needs help with:

  • Showering and personal hygiene
  • Getting dressed for the day
  • Fixing his meals
  • Taking his medications on schedule
  • Getting to his VA appointments
  • Some light cleaning around the house

Weekly hours: 12 hours (8 hours weekday + 4 hours weekend)
Weekly cost: $280 (weekdays) + $160 (weekend) = $440
Monthly cost: approximately $1,907

The Tuesday and Thursday visits are $35.00 per hour. Saturday is $40.00 per hour because it's a weekend. Frank's son lives in California so having someone check on his dad three times a week gives him tremendous peace of mind since he can’t be there. The Saturday visit works out especially well since that's when the son usually calls to catch up with Frank. Our caregiver helps Frank to do Facetime calls so they can see one another too.

Richard and Carol, Dayton

Richard and Carol are both in their mid-eighties and have been married for 62 years. Both have some health issues now. Richard has diabetes and mobility problems from his right knee replacement. Carol had a mild stroke two years ago, moves slower and gets confused sometimes.

Their daughter arranged for 20 hours of care per week through our couples program at $45.00 per hour. One caregiver helps both of them, which saves money compared to hiring two separate caregivers. The caregiver comes five days a week for 4 hours each day and helps with:

  • Preparing their meals and monitoring Richard’s diabetic diet
  • Bathing and dressing assistance for both
  • Medication reminders for their various prescriptions
  • Light housekeeping and laundry
  • Driving them to doctor appointments
  • Grocery shopping
  • Companionship and supervision for Carol

Weekly hours: 20 hours
Monthly hours: approximately 87 hours
Monthly cost at $45.00/hour: $3,915

The couples’ rate makes it affordable for them to both get care at the same time.

We understand that budgets aren’t unlimited. That’s why we work with our clients to create a schedule of visits that works with their needs and budget.

Affordable home care is available temporarily or long-term on weekdays, weekends, and/or over holidays. You can schedule caregiver visits during the daytime, in the evenings, overnight, 24-hour care or live-in care. Again, those options are

  • Temporary Care
  • Long Term Care
  • Weekdays
  • Weekends
  • Holidays
  • Daytime
  • Evenings
  • Overnight
  • 24-hour Care
  • Live-in Care
