Visiting Angels has adopted a comprehensive personalized screening system that all Visiting Angels franchised senior care agencies* are trained to use. The screening program is designed to maximize your peace of mind. Whenever possible, you’ll have the opportunity to interview any caregiver we refer to you in advance of commencing services. When you choose Visiting Angels, you choose the caregiver you trust.
Finding a senior care provider with knowledge of the industry and how to care for your loved one's needs is at the top of your list. You deserve to have a senior care professional who is well trained and/or experienced or in providing home care services.
At Visiting Angels, we don’t believe in “on the job training”. We recruit caregivers who have a strong employment history in the senior care industry or who have participated in healthcare certification training programs. Our caregivers have the knowledge to provide assistance with personal care needs or assistance with hygiene. An unskilled caregiver may be utilized only in cases where no personal care or hygiene assistance is needed. Many of our caregivers have worked with us for years.
We recommend to our franchised senior care agencies that they perform multiple interviews with each prospective caregiver prior to hiring them. We also encourage all our Visiting Angels agencies to obtain references on prospective caregivers from reliable sources (previous clients, agencies, healthcare institutions, certification training schools, volunteer organizations, etc.) before a caregiver is referred to a client.
