"Mom’s caregiver, Ruth of Gresham Visiting Angels, has been like a family member providing loving care. Ruth is truly an angel who deserves many halos. She is with mom 3 hours, 5 days per week. Ruth works holidays and an occasional weekend day without hesitation and is always willing to help with mom’s care as needed. She anticipates mom’s needs and follows through in a gentle, thoughtful and positive manner. She encourages mom to eat and prepares leftovers for her, helps to select menu items for meals, prompts mom to drink water, take her meds, walks with her for exercise, tracks her weight and blood pressure, carefully follows all of the instructions from mom’s doctors, and often attends doctor appointments during her shifts to provide input. Ruth helps with bathing and dressing as needed, reminds mom to use her walker with every step to prevent falls, deals compassionately with dementia- and macular-caused hallucinations, delusions and depression, prays with her, reads to her, and provides personal services" - Deborah S.
