Arthritis, Parkinson's, COPD, dementia, diabetes, bad hips, chronic pain… these conditions don't just cause discomfort for elderly people, they make ordinary daily tasks genuinely difficult. Getting dressed, preparing a meal, managing medications, bathing safely, getting up from a chair. For seniors living with any combination of these conditions, easy tasks now take real effort and some tasks simply aren't even safe to do alone anymore.
Family members step in to fill that gap, but caregiving without training, without a break, and on top of everything else in a person's life takes a real toll.
Visiting Angels in Lithonia helps seniors manage daily life at home with extra help from our trained caregivers who can easily handle the tasks that are too difficult for older adults.
Our Home Care Services Make Everyday Life Easier for Lithonia Seniors
Even though health and physical limitations aren’t going away, seniors do not have to lose their independence too. Our home aides can make an enormous difference in how safely and comfortably a senior manages daily life!
Visiting Angels is the leading provider of in-home care to seniors in Lithonia for over ten years. Our owner, Liliane Monthe, started our local agency after working as a registered nurse. She saw how a professional caregiver can improve a person's quality of life, and experience leads to how we hire, train, and match our caregivers with clients.
We offer a comprehensive list of services and we will help you create a care plan that revolves around your loved one’s physical, emotional, social and spiritual needs.
Personal Care
Bathing, dressing, toileting, and personal hygiene assistance. We help seniors maintain their dignity and routine even when physical limitations make self-care difficult.

Featured Home Care Services Review
We are proud of the quality home care we provide, but clients sometimes do a better job at describing it than we can! Here’s one recent review that reflects the type of customer services we work hard to provide so that you can expect the very best!
“Owner, Lilian, answered my call and gave me the most wonderful customer service ever!! She was so caring, sensitive to my needs, and went ABOVE & BEYOND to help me. She is extremely knowledgeable in this field and answered every question I had. Before we hung up she asked me to keep her updated on my progress. I told her she is definitely an angel!! Your loved ones are in good hands with Visiting Angels.”

❓Home Care FAQs
How Can Senior Care Help?
Home care services are for seniors who are choosing to age in place. More and more seniors are choosing to receive care at home so that they can age in place where they are most comfortable. Visiting Angels of Lithonia supports a senior's decision to remain in their own home, which is why we work so hard to support seniors across our community.
How do I know if my parents actually need home care, or if I'm overreacting?
You’re probably not overreacting. Families push off the idea of home care as long as they can and often wait too long than they should. Having a conversation with our home care agency costs nothing, and it can be instrumental in helping you decide whether the need is immediate or something that you just need to plan for.
My mom doesn't want a stranger in her home. What do we do?
This is a very common concern among the older generations who pride themselves on keeping a tidy home when company comes to visit. Sometimes, clients need to warm up to the idea first. So, we’d start with only light housekeeping help or companionship from a caregiver instead of jumping straight to things as personal as hygiene. We make careful matches between clients and caregivers with that in mind.
What's the difference between home care and a nursing home?
A nursing home or assisted living is when a person moves into a residential care setting. Home care is often cited as the preference because it allows your loved one to keep their routine, their sense of independence and of course their familiar environment.
How many hours a week does home care typically involve?
It depends on the client’s needs, of course. We have clients that only need three or four visits a week. Many of our clients have been diagnosed with a disease like Alzheimer’s and depending on what stage they are in, we have caregivers available for 24-hour care. Our care coordinators will work with you to create a custom care plan that considers your schedule, budget, and overall needs. Every client we work with has a different care plan that works best for them and their family.
Does Medicare or insurance cover home care?
Medicare does not cover non-medical home care services from Visiting Angels home aides. Families pay out of pocket for home care services, or take advantage of benefits in their long-term care insurance policies that sometimes have provisions for it. Care plans are flexible enough to keep home care affordable.
What happens if the assigned caregiver isn't a good fit?
We address this immediately. If the match isn’t working for any reason, you can let us know and we’ll find someone who might have better luck. The relationship between a caregiver and our client matters too much to leave it as “this is who we have available”.
