A Visiting Angels Registered Nurse Supervisor will perform a home care assessment in the presence of the assigned live-in Caregiver. Family members will have every opportunity to discuss and have documented the specifics of your loved one’s particular needs and preferences, prior to care commencing.
The RN's custom care plan will be a comprehensive reflection of the client’s routines, challenges, and preferences, along with knowledge of any conditions, illnesses or risks the client faces. The care plan is the home health aide’s “blueprint” for care each day and week. Contact information for all interested parties can be exchanged, and Visiting Angels will assure updates and communication with family.
Living with a CHHA Caregiver
When you employ a live-in CHHA, the following would be expected:
- The chosen live-in CHHA caregiver will reside in the home with your loved one, responsible for performing all duties as outlined in the care plan.
- The caregiver will require a separate, private room, along with access to all the typical in-home resources of a resident.
- Although a live-in caregiver requires appropriate sleep and basic breaks, family members are relieved to know that a responsible person is in the home should their loved one need assistance or reassurance outside of a typical daytime shift or family visit.
