Since 1990, the elderly population in Massachusetts has been steadily increasing. That year, there were roughly 800,000 seniors living in Massachusetts. By 2020, it is projected that the senior population will have grown to over one million. So it is no wonder that Massachusetts is estimated to be one of the leading states in elderly population. The need for senior home care is rising at proportional rates.
What Led You to Look for Assisted Living Care in Massachusetts for Your Loved Ones?
When my wife and I had our first child, we were worried that we simply didn't have enough money to get by. Some months were pretty tough. Looking back, I see how blessed we were to have my parents living just down the road. If things got too hard, we could rely on them to offer a hand. In many ways, they saved us.
Years later, our family's financial situation was improving. This was about the time that my father fell down and injured his hip. So, now my parents were the ones worrying about money -- doctors bills, surgery costs, rehabilitation, etc. To make matters worse, it looks like my father couldn't go on living in their three-story home. Climbing those stairs would have been a daily hardship.
Well, I am proud to say that my wife and I were able to help my parents the same way they helped us all those years ago -- We offered them a hand in a time of need. After my dad recovered from his latest operation, he and mom moved right in to our guest room. Our family was glad to have them.
Unfortunately, after a while, my mother's health also began to go and it became difficult for my wife and I to offer the care my parents required. It was then that we all sat down and talked about Visiting Angels.
