Veterans Home Care - Fayetteville, NC

As the number of elderly veterans in the United States grows, a growing concern for many of them and their loved ones is how they can afford personalized senior care. It can be a big financial challenge, but what many veterans may not know is that they could be eligible for in-home personal care benefits through the Veterans Administration (VA) at no cost to them.

Here at Visiting Angels, we specialize in home care specifically designed to help seniors and aging adults with non-medical assistance and companionship. We have several locations nationwide, including in Fayetteville, NC, to help serve you and your loved ones. If you or your veteran loved one live in Fayetteville, NC, we can help you determine whether you’re eligible for free personalized home care.

In 2021, there were almost 26,000 veterans in the Fayetteville, NC area, which makes up just over 8% of the total population of the city. This means that approximately 1 in 13 people in Fayetteville, NC is a veteran. As the veteran population continues to age in this city, many of them need help with daily activities, but may not be able to afford it.

Visiting Angels in Fayetteville, NC works closely with the VA Homemaker and Home Health Aide Care (HHHA) program, which is a program funded by Veterans Affairs. The HHHA program helps veterans and their surviving spouses get affordable access to veterans home care to stay independent and comfortable in their own home.

As a Surviving Spouse what benefits apply to me?

Many seniors, may need assistance with their daily activities as they age, especially after the loss of a loved one. This can include tasks such as bathing, dressing, using the bathroom, preparing meals, and doing laundry. Unfortunately, this kind of ongoing care, known as "custodial care," is not typically covered by health insurance, such as Medicare, even though it may be required due to medical conditions like heart failure, arthritis, or diabetes.

Veterans Care

Visiting Angels steps into this gap and works with the Veteran Affairs Aid and Attendance benefit and can be a real lifeline for those in need of long-term care. Visiting Angels partners with this program which provides financial assistance to veterans and their surviving spouses who require the ongoing "aid and attendance" of another person to perform daily living activities. While it can be difficult to come to terms with the need for assistance, it's important to remember that Visiting Angels and the Aid and Attendance benefit exist to help seniors maintain their independence and dignity as they age. We would love to see if you or a surviving spouse qualifies for these benefits.
