About Visiting Angels in Mantua Township, NJ

Visiting Angels opened in Mantua Township, New Jersey, in 2008. Our agency’s owner, Bola Mustafa, is a Registered Nurse with over 20 years of experience in healthcare.

When you ask Bola why she started Visiting Angels, it came from watching families struggle "I spent years working as a nurse, and you see a lot in that time," she says. "What stood out to me was how many families were just overwhelmed, trying to care for aging parents while also working, raising their own kids and managing everything else. They wanted to do right by their loved ones but they were stretched so thin."

She continues, "Seniors deserve to age with dignity, in their own homes if that's what they want. So I decided to create a senior care agency that families could trust for their loved ones. Our clients are being cared for with real compassion and competence, not just going through the motions."

Running a home care agency takes more than just one person, no matter how experienced! Under Bola’s leadership, Maria Caamano handles client coordination and scheduling, which is probably one of the trickiest jobs we have since every family's needs are different. Maria Caamano, Customer Care Coordinator/Administrative Assistant

Maria began her career as a medical assistant and has been with Visiting Angels for the past three years. While she was providing care to patients in a one-on-one setting and assisting physicians, she realized she had a passion for making a difference in the lives of senior citizens. She chose to work with Visiting Angels of Gloucester County/Voorhees because of their mission to ensure the care and comfort of senior citizens. Maria enjoys her days spent visiting potential clients and their loving families to assist them in determining their needs and how Visiting Angels can help. Maria sees the importance and the need for home-care agencies like Visiting Angels because she believes companion care can enhance our seniors’ lives and help them to remain healthy and independent as they age. She strives to ensure that our clients receive the compassion and comfort they deserve. Maria engages clients and caregivers alike with kindness and compassion. Her favorite part of her job is watching our clients thrive under the care of our caregiving team.

Jessica Gilham, Administrative Assistant

Jessica began her career in the medical field as a medical assistant and an administrative assistant in a gynecologist’s office while maintaining a secondary career in food service. Eager to move full-time into the medical field by marrying her detail-oriented administrative skills with her medical knowledge, Jessica found that working with Visiting Angels of Gloucester County/Voorhees was the perfect fit. Jessica’s goal is to ensure that every client is properly cared for to the best of her ability. She is dedicated to every client and caregiver who walks through our door striving to make sure everyone is happy and satisfied with Visiting Angels’ care. What she loves best about working for Visiting Angels is providing comfort and safety for our elderly population by giving them the companionship they need to live an enriched life. Jessica works hard to get to know both our clients and caregivers in a personal way so she can make sure that everyone’s needs and expectations are met.

Commitment to Senior Care and Our Community

We also run a Certified HHA Training program that's approved by the New Jersey State Board of Nursing. What that means is if you complete our training, you're ready to take the next step toward getting your HHA license. We're pretty particular about who we hire and how we train them because the quality of care depends entirely on the people providing it.

Our senior home care agency provides exceptional care to elderly adults in Mantua, Cherry Hill and Voorhees as well as many of our neighboring cities in Gloucester County and Camden County.

For the past five years running, we've been awarded the Gloucester County Care Grant. That's something we're really proud of because it means we can help even more clients who need home care but might not otherwise be able to afford it. We're also very active in our community.

For example, Bola presented at the Together With Veterans breakfast at VFW Post 253 in Salem where talked about Alzheimer's awareness, specifically helping people understand the difference between normal aging and actual signs of dementia. It's one of those topics where families have a lot of questions but aren't always sure where to get real answers.

We periodically host holiday events at local senior centers and assisted living facilities, including places like Pitman Manor and Tylers Mill Senior Living in Deptford, New Jersey.
