"My experience with Visiting Angels of Gloucester County has been excellent. The caregivers provide compassionate care for my 94 yr old cousin who can be a handful at times. Their care allows him to be happy in his own home."

There are many important reasons why staying in your own home is so special during your golden years. The familiar kitchen where you've cooked thousands of meals, the tile floors you've mopped for years, the neighbors who waved hello each morning. So many older adults tell us they want to stay right where they are, and honestly, we think that's wonderful.
At Visiting Angels® in Mantua Township, we provide non-medical home care services that help people stay home safely while living life on their own terms. Our caregivers are also your neighbors, and we genuinely care about the seniors throughout Gloucester County, New Jersey.
Home Care For Gloucester Seniors
Local families throughout Gloucester County have relied on our Visiting Angels agency for senior home care for years. We are proud to be a locally-owned and operated home care agency, and that means our caregivers are part of this community too.
Our management team, led by retired registered nurse, Bola Mustaf, firmly believes that senior home care should be compassionate, and allow elderly adults to maintain their dignity. We have earned our reputation as an upstanding senior home care agency by treating our clients with respect.
Here is a menu of our most-requested home care services for seniors in Gloucester County:
Companion Care
Senior companionship works wonders when you or your loved one experiences loneliness. Often, older adults find themselves very isolated when their family lives far away or after they’ve lost a spouse. With Companion care, your aide focuses her time on creating meaningful conversations and rewarding interactions with her client, along with light housework and assistance with errands.
Learn More →Personal Care
Asking for help with highly-personal things like bathing and dressing can be difficult or even embarrassing. Our caregivers are trained to provide hands-on personal care assistance with dignity and respect, and can also assist with toileting and incontinence care for mobile and bed-bound clients.
Learn More →Memory Care
Studies have shown that seniors who’ve been diagnosed with Alzheimer’s Disease or other forms of Dementia do better at home amidst their familiar surroundings and routines. Our caregivers undergo an advanced training program in cooperation with the Alzheimer’s Foundation of America in order to help seniors with activities that engage cognition. Our goal is to promote their safety and reduce confusion as well as adhere to a routine and schedule that fits their life.
Learn More →Respite Care
Respite Care gives family caregivers permission to take a breath. We see adult children who haven't had a full night's sleep in months, or spouses who feel guilty about wanting a few hours to themselves. Our caregivers can provide the relief a caregiver may need to recharge their superpowers.
Learn More →Transitional Care
Coming home from Inspira Medical Center or Jefferson Hospital after a hip replacement, knee surgery, cardiology procedure or any major surgery means no driving, no lifting, not bending too far etc. Our caregivers can be there to assist a recovering senior during those vulnerable weeks after they’ve first returned home and can’t really do things on their own temporarily.
Learn More →End of Life Care
Caregivers help families through both palliative care or end of life care. For seniors living with a serious illness or those in the final stages of life, our caregivers handle bathing, meals, and the daily upkeep of the house so your family can put your energy into quality time together.
Learn More →Signs It's Time for Care
It is very common for relatives to wonder when helping their elderly loved one increases into needing professional caregiving. Maybe you notice your elderly mother skipping breakfasts or lunches, maybe you’ve seen the house in disarray more often. Things like this are signs it could be time. Electing to bring in a home aide doesn’t mean you have failed your relative in any way. Rather, it means you support his or her decision to stay at home safely and comfortably.
Our caregivers are prepared to handle all of the daily tasks that seniors need to continue living in their homes.
Home Care Can Build a Senior’s Confidence
We recently started visits to an elderly gentleman’s home in Voorhees, New Jersey, who was dealing with an all-too-common bout of bad arthritis. Everyday tasks as simple as opening pickle jars, buttoning dress shirts, or even writing to-do lists had become impossible. He didn’t want to rely on his adult son because he was too proud to admit how much support he needed, but his worst fear was going into a nursing home.
Our Visiting Angels in-home caregiver started initially by visiting four hours every day of the week. She kept him company, cooked up his favorite meals, even talked sports with my dad (who is a hopeless NY Jets fan). Dad’s confidence grew bit by bit with the daily visits from our home aide.
The Simple Process to Start Home Care with Visiting Angels
If you or your loved one is ready for home care services, we make it as simple and stress-free as possible. We start by gathering information and discussing your questions & concerns during a free in-home assessment. Next, our care coordinator will customize your care plan to encompass the client’s unique needs.
Once approved, a caregiver of your choice can begin home care visits! We conduct regular check-in and modify your care plan if it’s necessary. Our Select-A-Caregiver process is meant to match clients to caregivers that would harmonize best with their personality, interests, and care requirements. We want these relationships to work well for everyone involved.

FAQs about Home Care Services
How can families pay for home care?
Most families are ‘private pay’ or cash pay using their personal savings, pensions, or retirement funds. We accept certain types of long-term care insurance and veterans’ benefits through the HHA program. Unlike most home care agencies, we do accept Medicaid, but we do not accept Medicare. Please contact our office directly to determine your eligibility and coverage. Thank you!
What are scheduling options for home care services?
Visiting Angels offers home care services hourly, 24 hours or live-in care. During your initial consultation when we assess the level of care required, we’ll consider which scheduling option works best for you or your loved one.
Do caregivers travel to nearby cities?
Yes, Visiting Angels in Gloucester County serves a number of nearby cities and townships within Gloucester County and Camden County.
What’s the difference between your Personal Care program and Companionship?
You’ll find crossover between the types of tasks offered as part of our different care programs. We’ve designed them to fit together like pieces of a puzzle. While personal care tends to include more hands-on assistance with general grooming, toileting, and housekeeping, companionship does develop between the client and their caregiver. Likewise, an elder’s companion may also help their client with mobility support and perform light house cleaning.
