About Visiting Angels in Port Huron

At Visiting Angels in Port Huron, Michigan, we know how deeply personal it is to invite someone into your home to care for a loved one. That’s why our mission has always been to provide the type of dependable, compassionate home care that we’d want for our own family. Since 2004, our owners Stephen and Tara Novak and staff have helped many local families to open their homes to our trusted caregivers to provide any number of our different types of home care services.

Home Care with Personal Experience

Caring for others is more than just a profession to us. Stephen cared for his own, elderly father. That gave him first hand experience about what common questions and concerns other families had when trusting a professional caregiver with their loved one’s well-being. That experience helps us design home care plans for clients centered around empathy, reliability and dignity.

From Industry to In-Home Care

Stephen Novak spent 15 years as a tool design engineer working with a Tier 1 supplier to Chrysler (now Stellantis). Tara Novak was a registered nurse with 15 years of experience at Beaumont Hospital (now Corewell Health). Together, we recognized an opportunity to bring caregiving to our community that would make a positive difference in people’s lives.

After extensive research, we launched our first Visiting Angels home care agency in October 2004. Today, Stephen and Tara operate Visiting Angels in Port Huron, Rochester Hills and Sterling Heights, Michigan. As high school sweethearts married in 1995 and proud parents of three daughters, we keep our business approach rooted in love, loyalty, and a genuine understanding toward the realities of aging.

Our Philosophy

Stephen and Tara Novak have always held the philosophy that they are in business to provide the best care possible to seniors as well as others who need in home care while giving total respect to the caregiving staff.

Awards & Recognition

Our philosophy translates into practice, as evident by the variety of accolades we have earned over the years. In addition to these awards, we are very proud of our volunteer efforts in our community, raising over $215,000 for the Alzheimer’s Association through events like the Walk to End Alzheimer’s.
