Local St. Cloud Caregiver Named Finalist for National Award
Visiting Angels, the nation’s leading provider of in-home senior care, announces Bethany Demo of St. Cloud, Minnesota, as one of the 10 semi-finalists for its prestigious National Caregiver of the Year award.
Bethany Demo joined Visiting Angels St. Cloud four years ago and has provided nearly 5,400 hours of care. She began caregiving well before 2020, as she also cared for her father, who had Parkinson's disease. Her unwavering dedication and personalized approach to caregiving have changed clients' lives. For example, Bethany slowly built trust to help a client overcome her anxiety about taking a shower. Then, during a harsh Minnesota blizzard, Bethany didn’t think twice about driving 40 miles to a client who recently had heart surgery.
“Compassion is in Bethany’s heart. Her clients are always at the forefront of her mind, leading her decision-making process,” said Ben Rosenbush, franchise owner of Visiting Angels St. Cloud.
Bethany has an uncanny ability to notice the subtle signs that might indicate a change in a client’s health. Once, Bethany’s client had some unusual behavior, not eating and wanting to go to bed earlier. She then noticed his warm legs. Because of her attentiveness, the client received the proper care he needed.
"Bethany brought not just her skills but her sunshine into my life at a time when I needed it most. Her ability to notice the little things others might miss has been a game-changer for me. She's more than a caregiver; she's a guardian angel,” said Donald, one of Bethany’s clients.
Visiting Angels’ National Caregiver of the Year Award celebrates the extraordinary contributions of caregivers who go above and beyond to provide care for their senior clients and their families. The semi-finalists were selected from entries throughout the nationwide Visiting Angels franchise locations. The caregivers nominated embody Visiting Angels’ compassionate values and demonstrate excellence through the quality care they provide.

Visiting Angels will announce the Caregiver of the Year winner at its annual conference in June. The winner will receive a $5,000 prize, and two finalists will each receive a check for $2,500.
