Industry-Leading Hiring Requirements
All of our caregivers are Certified Home Care Aides (HCA), have strong employment history, and experience working with seniors. Some of our other requirements include strong oral and written communication skills, a valid driver’s license, and a reliable vehicle with proof of insurance.
Thorough Screening Process
We complete an extensive background check on all our employees. Our process includes DOJ/FBI criminal history fingerprinting, along with personal and professional reference checks. DMV history is confirmed. TB and drug tests are also conducted.
Emphasis on Intangible Traits
We strive to employ the best caregivers with excellent character. In doing so, we place emphasis on soft skills such as a compassion, empathy, and dependability when hiring caregivers.
Comprehensive Employee Orientation
Our new hire orientation builds the foundation for a clear understanding of Visiting Angels’ philosophies, policies, office staff, procedures, and expectations. Your caregiver also enjoys ongoing training classes, employee recognition, and the keen awareness that they are part of a team.
We take the responsibility out of your hands by carrying bonding, general liability, professional liability and worker’s compensation coverage on all our caregivers.
Caregivers occasionally need time off. To ensure continual care, Visiting Angels keeps on-call caregivers available. We want you to know your loved-one is cared for, even when your regular caregiver isn’t available.
