Behind Visiting Angels of Burlington, NC!
About Dr. Ehimemen Iboaya, MD (“Dr. E”)

Physician Director, Visiting Angels of Burlington, NC
Dr. Ehimemen Iboaya, known to many as Dr. E, is the Physician Director of Visiting Angels of Burlington, NC, a personally meaningful pursuit to which he has dedicated his years of medical training. Knowing that the most vulnerable time for many patients is often after they leave the hospital, Dr. E’s mission became bridging the gap between hospital and home by providing dependable, compassionate care tailored to each client’s unique needs.
Medical Training and Professional Experience
Dr. E began his healthcare education at the age of 17, earning early admission into medical school and going on to complete advanced training in Internal Medicine, Anesthesiology, and Critical Care Medicine. He has a range of experience caring for patients across the full spectrum of care, from the clinic, operating room, and intensive care unit.
Despite years of medical training and experience, Dr. E came to appreciate the limitations of even the most advanced healthcare when his wife’s grandmother was diagnosed with dementia and her condition progressively worsened. As her family navigated the challenges of keeping her safe, comfortable, and supported at home, Dr. E and his wife brought her into their home and witnessed firsthand the daily struggles that families face when caring for a loved one with memory loss.
Personal Connection to Caregiving in North Carolina
While physicians, nurses, and hospitals play an essential role in medical treatment, they recognized that families often need something equally important: compassionate day-to-day support, companionship, supervision, and assistance with everyday activities. Their personal experience caring for a loved one with dementia inspired them to purchase Visiting Angels of Chapel Hill/Durham so they could help other families facing similar challenges.
Today, Dr. E and his team are committed to helping seniors remain safe, independent, and comfortable in their own homes while providing families with peace of mind. He believes every client should be treated with dignity, respect, and the same level of attention he would give his own loved ones.
Dr. E is a devoted husband and father of two whose faith and family values continue to guide his approach to patient care.
