Visiting Angels of Fresno continues to be involved with the community through different events such as the Colvis rodeo parade, local pride events, Veterans' Day parade, and Alzheimer's walks.

Local Community Resources for Seniors in Fresno, Clovis, CA, and The Surrounding Areas
Visiting Angels of Fresno - Join us for our monthly support groups held every 2nd Tuesday from 6 to 7 PM at our office, starting in December. Attend in person or remotely to connect with other caregivers, gain helpful resources, and learn more about local respite care options. Reach out to us at 559-500-2102 for more information.
Valley Caregiver Resource Center - Supporting elderly and family caregivers across the Central Valley is the mission of the Valley Caregiver Resource Center (VCRC) in Fresno. The Caregiver Resource Program is only one of many services they provide; it includes counseling for families, temporary relief from caregiving, access to legal aid, and psychological and social support. Individuals in the early stages of dementia may get scheduled assistance through their OASIS Adult Day Program, and Medicare beneficiaries can receive free, impartial counseling through their HICAP program.
Arte de Américas - Programs offered by Arte Américas encourage artistic expression, social interaction, and cultural enrichment among the elderly. Research shows that seniors who participate in artistic activities have better cognitive function, less stress, and less loneliness. Arte Américas hosts exhibits and events that provide seniors a chance to engage in community activities that boost their well-being while also exploring new forms of creative expression. Arte Américas offers activities for seniors that allow them to engage with people in the community, enjoy cultural events that promote variety and creativity, and benefit from the therapeutic effects of art.
Clovis Senior Center - The local senior population has grown to rely on the senior center as a vital resource due to its purpose of offering enriching activities and services. Dance, art, exercise, and language programs are just a few examples of the enrichment opportunities available to seniors, who may try out new interests while maintaining their cognitive and physical health. Regular social activities, such as Friday night dances and themed get-togethers, help the center's members feel more connected to one another. Fitness centers and instructional workshops on critical subjects like elder scam awareness are part of the center's beneficial health and wellness programs, which also include recreational activities. A daily hot lunch program is provided by the center for up to 130 people who may need help with meals. This program aims to promote both nutrition and social connection.
Agency on Aging - An essential resource for improving the quality of life for seniors in Madera and Fresno counties is the Fresno-Madera Area Agency on Aging (FMAAA). To help seniors and those who care for them continue living independently and with dignity, they provide a wide array of services.
Kings View Behavior Health - For people of all ages in California, especially those in their golden years, Kings View Community Services offers a full range of mental health services. The many programs and services provided by Kings View aim to improve the mental health of seniors and help them continue living independently with dignity and respect. Kings View offers a variety of outpatient mental health treatments, including individual, group, and family therapy, to seniors who are dealing with mental health issues. With the help of its difficulty Intervention Team (CIT) and Mobile Crisis Response Team (MCRT), Kings View is dedicated to assisting elders in times of difficulty. In the event of a mental health emergency, these teams are prepared to react by giving people the help they need right away and putting them in touch with the resources they need to avoid hospitalization.
Fresno County Public Library - In order to make library use more enjoyable and accessible for elders, FCPL established the Senior Resource Center Library. Many publications are available to elders and caregivers, and the library also offers books in big print and books sent by mail. To help elders maintain connections and acquire digital literacy skills, the facility also provides free computer use and computer training. To provide a well-rounded approach to engaging seniors, programs and services span themes such as music, hobbies, and healthcare. The FCPL makes sure that elders may meet new people, try out new hobbies, and learn new skills by providing a wide variety of programs.
