About Visiting Angels in East Cincinnati

Our owners, David and Cathy Hobbs, did not come into home care service through a regular business idea. Rather, they came to it through their life experience.

David’s father served in Vietnam and came home with exposure to Agent Orange, ultimately leading to his Leukemia diagnosis. After he passed when David was just 10 years old, he moved in with this grandma. Unfortunately, she had congestive heart failure and struggled with her balance. Then his aunt and uncle moved next door, and since his aunt also had congestive heart failure and his uncle was diagnosed with dementia, David sort of became the family caregiver.

David describes caregiving as “Just something we’ve always done as a family”, and that transfers on to how our Visiting Angels home care agency operates today: as a family.

Locally-Owned Home Care Operating like Family

You will still see David out and about conducting client intakes personally. When a new caregiver is introduced to a family, David enjoys making that introduction himself. Most agencies do not operate this way.

Meanwhile, Cathy handles the training and hiring of new caregivers. Their daughter, Danielle, and son-in-law, Christopher, are both part of the business. We have a high retention rate among our staff, for example Stephanie has been with our team for over six years.

Our agency has earned the Best of Home Care Leader in Excellence award two years in a row, a title held by fewer than 10% of home care providers in our nation. We’ve also been recognized as a Home Care Employer of Choice for four consecutive years and a Home Care Provider of Choice for three years.

Visiting Angels in East Cincinnati is a member of the Private Duty Home Care Association and David Hobbs himself is a Certified Senior Advisor through the Society of Certified Senior Advisors who help to educate elderly adults in our community about healthcare and financial options later in life.
