Visiting Angels Caregivers are 'Angels in Disguise'
Angels are always busy; their typical tasks and activities change day-to-day. Sometimes angels take clients to the grocery store, sometimes they take them to a doctor's appointment, and other times they may just spend the day tidying up the client's home. If these "angels" don't sound typical, it's because they aren't. They are caregivers from Visiting Angels, an innovative agency that provides non-medical in-home care to older adults.
What Makes Our Caregivers Different
Although their daily duties may change, one trait the angels are never without is passion! Each individual angel at Visiting Angels has been selected by the directors because of their strong will and desire to take care of the elderly. The company takes pride in selecting caregivers who possess intangible traits, such as a caring personality, a big heart, and a passionate spirit. These devoted, experienced caregivers provide up to 24-hour care in the comfort of one's own home. Visiting Angels of Lubbock is different from most service agencies because they strive to build lifetime relationships with their clients.
"Our business is done from the heart," says Chris Faubus, co-owner of Visiting Angels of Lubbock. "This is a business that requires you to have love and compassion. It is centered around finding caregivers that have enough heart and passion to be able to form a strong relationship and bond with their client." Visiting Angels representatives begin by meeting with potential clients in order to get to know them. They also talk with involved family members to find out the client's particular likes and dislikes. Working with the family, they develop an individualized program to manage the particular daily needs of each care recipient. The clients participate in selecting their own caregivers, guaranteeing the match will be a perfect one.
"We actually match the personality of the client with the personality of the caregiver," Chris says. "It is extremely important to us that the client has a bond with their caregiver. They have to be so satisfied that the bond just comes naturally." After services begin, Visiting Angels implement their system of ongoing personalized contacts with the client's family. "We want the families to trust us and know that we are not just about filling shifts," says Tina Woodcock, co-owner of Visiting Angels of Lubbock. "We are about sending someone into the home that they really can grow to love and trust."
Visiting Angels Caregiver Services
The services they provide include hygiene assistance, meal preparation, medication reminders, light housekeeping, errands, shopping, transportation to medical appointments, social events or church services, and, of course, joyful companionship. The angels are available on a live-in or live-out basis, during daytime or evening hours, and on weekends or holidays. They can be hired to provide a temporary respite for family members, or for a long-term engagement.
The directors of Visiting Angels have always held the philosophy that they are in business to provide the best care possible to their clients as well as total respect to the staff. "We commit ourselves to treat those that we serve with dignity, respect, and honor," Chris says.
