Aside from being tourist attractions, these sites give San Diego a strong network of community landmarks, both on a local and city-wide level, that make it a great place for seniors to live. There are many opportunities for seniors to get involved with their local community, make connections, and find a sense of belonging, as well as many fun and engaging ways to get low-impact exercise that is essential to physical well-being.
Balboa Park is a recreational and cultural landmark in San Diego. The San Diego Zoo in Balboa Park offers a discount on memberships for seniors, and the zoo is a great place to go to enjoy the outdoors, get some low-impact exercise, and appreciate beautiful plants and animals.
