Caregiver Spotlight: Nancy J.

Our caregivers are the cornerstone of our Visiting Angels office. These compassionate and friendly folks bring joy to our clients, and we are inspired by the service they provide daily. Our office staff works tirelessly to find, recruit and hire the very best caregivers in the St Louis Park, MN area; we are proud of the work they do and we relish any chance to showcase their stories. For our caregiver Nancy J., working with seniors is all about service and relationships.

“Simple things done with love make a huge difference.”

Nancy came to our office after serving others in Southeast Asia. “I loved the chance to travel and see that our world is big, but we are all connected,” says Nancy. She spent her time abroad helping communities with establishing affordable health clinics, organic agriculture, and other community development projects. Upon returning home, she knew that she wanted to continue serving others. It was a natural step to investigate Visiting Angels, where she could serve seniors in her own community.

“Gary and the team at Visiting Angels genuinely care about our clients and the seniors throughout our area,” says Nancy. She knew immediately that Visiting Angels would be her new home. As for Gary and the office staff, they could see the dedication, compassion, and drive for service in Nancy right away.

But it’s more than just a desire to serve seniors that makes Nancy extra special. It’s her attention to detail that gives her clients a truly personalized approach. “Everyone is unique, and it’s my job to find out what tasks, routines, or habits makes their house feel like home to them,” says Nancy. “It’s a delight to find out and it’s an honor to be able to perform those tasks in a way that makes my clients feel at home, cared for, and loved.”

Nancy has been with Visiting Angels for a little over a year, and we are still amazed by the work she does with clients daily. She strives for relationships and to provide person-centered care to the seniors she serves. From helping them with care tasks and home chores to assisting with letter writing to friends, Nancy is leaving her mark of extraordinary service and care with each of her clients. We are forever thankful to have her as a member of our team.
