Local Port Orchard, WA, Caregiver Named Finalist for National Award
Visiting Angels, the nation’s leading provider of in-home senior care, announces Hannah Willis of Port Orchard, Washington, as one of the 10 semi-finalists for its prestigious National Caregiver of the Year award.
“Hannah brings a joyful spirit to work each day and understands just how important her role is as a caregiver,” said Marilyn Oswald, owner of Visiting Angels Port Orchard. “While she is extremely enthusiastic, she can also be a calming presence, especially in the tough times of the aging journey. She knows when to provide space for the families and how to offer quiet, supportive gestures.”
Hannah brings a unique blend of joy and compassion to her services. Hannah decided to take ballroom dancing lessons last year and loves to share the joy of music with her clients. She plays songs that they know from their youth so that they can dance and sway together. If they can’t dance, they can sing along. To encourage her clients to get out of the house, she offers “Free Saturdays,” where they choose where they want to go, whether it’s out for an ice cream or to window shop.

Hannah Willis joined Visiting Angels Port Orchard more than eight years ago, providing over 14,000 hours of care. Clients say she brings a positive attitude daily but is also a comforting presence in the hard times or when they’re bedridden.
Visiting Angels’ National Caregiver of the Year Award celebrates the extraordinary contributions of caregivers who go above and beyond to provide care for their senior clients and their families. The semi-finalists were selected from entries throughout the nationwide Visiting Angels franchise locations. The caregivers nominated embody Visiting Angels’ compassionate values and demonstrate excellence through the quality care they provide.

Visiting Angels will announce the Caregiver of the Year winner at its annual conference in June. The winner will receive a $5,000 prize, and two finalists will each receive a check for $2,500.
