Caregiver Spotlight: Tina T

With June in full swing, it’s time for a new caregiver spotlight! This month we are spotlighting our caregiver Tina T. Tina gets recognition this month for her obvious dedication to her clients, and her versatility in the field of home care.

Before she began her job as a caregiver with Visiting Angels, Tina ran an in-home daycare for children with special needs. Today she is the foster parent of 6 girls. Tina told us that she had just moved into the area when she saw the sign for Visiting Angels. She said to herself, “Oh my god, I want to work at that place.”

Tina has an innate passion for helping others. She told us that her favorite thing about working at Visiting Angels is the clients. Our best caregivers are compassionate in their daily lives, not just on the clock, and Tina exemplifies that.

Being compassionate for someone means imagining what it’s like to walk in their shoes. When we asked Tina about her advice for caregivers, she brought up the fact that every client is different from one another. She told us how important it is to consider the individual needs and feelings of your clients, first and foremost. If you want to truly care for someone, you need to make sure you look at life from their perspective.

Tina spoke briefly about the challenges she faces. She brought up the juggling act of finding time for her work while also caring for her 6 children. She also had her first client recently pass away, and mentioned the pain she felt. Thank you Tina – for your strength, and for the hard work you put into your caregiving career.
