Visiting Angels of Auburn, NH's Senior Caregiver of the Month: Fran R.

Fran celebrated her one-year anniversary with Visiting Angels of Auburn in December. Before becoming a senior caregiver, she was a substance abuse counselor for over 30 years. Back in the day, Fran was an LNA and after earning her bachelor’s degree, she started her career in counseling.

Fran has the added benefit of being able to see the perspective of both being a senior caregiver and a family member needing care in the home. As someone who has had in-home providers for loved ones, she mentioned understanding what she wanted for herself and her family during that time and how she was treated and wanted to be treated.

Fran talked about the importance of having compassion and being there for both the client and their family. She gives her current client a back rub and a foot soak every day because he enjoys it and looks forward to it and it makes him happy.

Fran is known around Visiting Angels of Auburn for her positive attitude and great sense of humor. And if there's a party, you can count on her to be the first one on the dance floor.
