Visiting Angels of Gilford provides exceptional home care services to the communities of Gilford, Laconia, Wolfeboro, Moultonborough, and other areas across the Lakes Region, enabling older and disabled residents to live fruitfully at home, where they are happiest. Our agency has been part of the Gilford community for over 20 years, and with a recent transition in ownership, we’re building on a strong foundation to continue serving this region with compassion and dedication.

Our Story

Visiting Angels of Gilford has built a solid reputation in the Lakes Region as one of the area’s top home care providers. Our office in Gilford is part of a group of Visiting Angels offices in New Hampshire and Massachusetts, now all owned by spouses, Susan and Michael Carman. Under the Carmans’ leadership, our agency maintains its foothold in the Lakes Region as a pillar of compassionate and supportive care – a legacy created by the previous owners, Debra and Ron Desrosiers.

With backgrounds in healthcare information technology and the Air Force and Reserves, Susan and Michael have professional experience rooted in structured problem-solving and mission-driven service. Personally, Susan has lifelong, first-hand knowledge of home care, family caregiving, and assisting adults with disabilities. She has also spent years volunteering with programs dedicated to serving others, particularly those devoted to supporting the elderly. For the Carmans, transitioning into the home care industry felt like a natural progression in their efforts to serve and advocate for those in need.
