If you’re a senior who’s happy in your home and wants to continue living independently in your own space, the Visiting Angels team may be able to help. We’re a locally owned and operated home care agency with a compassionate team of caregivers to assist with daily living tasks to ensure you’re safe at home and aging with dignity.

At-home care services with Visiting Angels

We understand each senior’s care needs are different. That’s why we have various customizable care services for you to choose from based on your needs and desires.

  • Companion care offers companionship and assistance with basic household tasks like cooking and housekeeping.
  • Personal care incorporates hands-on assistance into our companion care services. This service is best for clients who need mobility and bathroom assistance.
  • Respite care provides temporary care to seniors who rely on a family caregiver, giving their caregiver time to relax and recharge.
  • Palliative care helps clients living with a chronic condition. In addition to personal care services, palliative care includes emotional and spiritual support.
  • Ready-Set-Go Home care is a transitional care program that helps clients return home after hospitalization. The goal is to help reduce the risk of readmission.
  • Dementia and Alzheimer’s care provides similar services to companion and personal care but with more flexibility to accommodate the everchanging symptoms of dementia
  • Social care helps clients connect with loved ones through social media, texting, and emailing.
  • End-of-Life care works with hospice clients or those entering the final stages of life. Caregivers work to provide physical, emotional, and spiritual support for clients and their loved ones.

Living in Mishicot

Mishicot is a friendly village in Manitowoc County. Though small, this quiet town makes a wonderful place for seniors and their families to reside and have fun.

Museums and Galleries

One of the things Visiting Angels caregivers enjoy most about working with seniors is planning fun activities to encourage clients to get out of their homes and engage with their communities. Mishicot is home to some amazing museums and galleries, such as the Mishicot Historical Museum, where seniors can learn about the rich history of Mischicot, and the RiverEdge Galleries, filled with fine art, antiques, and a sculpture garden.

MAGIC Events

In addition to galleries and museums, caregivers enjoy accompanying clients to local events. Mishicot Growth and Improvement Committee (MAGIC) hosts many annual events to unite the community and showcase all the wonderful thighs Mashicot offers. One of the most popular events is Pumpkinfest, an all-day fall festival in downtown Mischicot to celebrate the harvest season.

Exploring the Outdoors

Physical activity is essential for seniors. Exercise helps keep muscles strong, improves mobility, and decreases the risk of various health conditions, like heart disease. Working out doesn’t mean you have to have an intense exercise schedule, but you should find fun ways to move your body regularly, such as exploring Mishicot's outdoor activities.

Caregivers love joining clients on outdoor adventures, such as hiking on the Ice Age Trail or exploring the riverwalk at Village Park. Caregivers can also drive clients to Par 5 Resport for a golf game or to enjoy a nice meal at the bistro. And during the summer, many seniors and clients enjoy a morning of fishing at one of Michicot’s many fishing spots.

Call Visiting Angels at 920-221-1000 if you or an aging loved one want to learn more about our at-home care services in Mischicot.
