Home Care in Kiel, WI

At Visiting Angels, we believe seniors in Kiel, Wisconsin, should have the opportunity to age at home if they want. To help more seniors stay in the homes they love, we provide a wide variety of at-home care services, providing nonmedical assistance to ensure seniors are safe, comfortable, and well cared for.

At-home care services with Visiting Angels

No two seniors are the same, and neither are their care needs. That’s why we offer various at-home care services, all of which are customizable to meet the needs and desires of each client.

  • Companion care: If you’re new to home care and want to see if at-home care services are right for you, a great place to start is with companion care. Caregivers providing companion care help with daily living activities like laundry, vacuuming, cooking, medication reminders, and transportation.
  • Personal care: If you need daily living assistance but require more hands-on assistance, you may want to consider personal care. Personal care includes the same services as companion care, but caregivers also help with more intimate tasks like showering, toileting, mobility, and grooming.
  • Respite care: Family caregivers who need a temporary leave from their duties can request respite care. This short-term care option helps family caregivers relax and recharge to return to their loved ones, ready to provide their highest quality care.
  • Palliative care: Seniors with a chronic condition who need physical, emotional, and spiritual support can seek palliative care. Caregivers can provide various care services with the ultimate goal of making seniors comfortable.
  • Ready-Set-Go Home care: Our transitional care program helps reduce hospital readmissions by assisting clients in their return home after a hospital stay. Caregivers can provide transportation to follow-up appointments and medication reminders to keep clients healthy during recovery.
  • Dementia and Alzheimer’s care: It takes additional awareness and training for caregivers to care for clients with dementia, which is what we offer with our dementia care services. Caregivers assist with daily living activities while ensuring clients aren’t wandering and safe at home.
  • Social care: Seniors who need help using smartphones, tablets, or laptops can request social care. Caregivers can help clients text, email, and use social media safely to connect with friends and family.
  • End-of-life care: Seniors entering the final stages of life may request our end-of-life care services for additional support for themselves and their families during this difficult time.

Living in Kiel

Kiel is a beautiful city that spans across Calumet and Manitowoc counties. Residents of Kiel love the small-town charm and natural beauty surrounding the community. It’s the perfect place for seniors to settle, relax, and enjoy retirement.

Kiel Parks and Trail Systems

Like many cities and towns in Wisconsin, Kiel is home to many beautiful parks and trails. Many of the city’s parks have dog parks for any four-legged friends who are properly vaccinated and registered. Many of Kiel’s trail systems run through the parks, such as the Salomon Trail linking Kiel and New Holstein.

You can find maps of the city’s trails online. Walking trails are a great exercise for seniors, but some may present fall hazards. It’s best to walk trails with a companion, such as a Visiting Angels caregiver, who can help you safely navigate the terrain.

Public Library

The Kiel Public Library is the go-to place for all your reading needs. You can borrow physical books, eBooks, audiobooks, and eMagazines. The library also has free WiFi and many community events for residents to check out, including book clubs and antique appraisals. You can view upcoming library events on the library’s website. And if anything looks interesting, our caregivers are happy to provide transportation and accompany you.

Kiel Community Center

The Kiel Community Center overlooks the Sheboygan River and hosts weekly activities for residents. A few activities our caregivers encourage clients to check out include:

  • Parkinson’s Music and Movement Exercise Class: Residents with Parkinson’s can join this hour-long movement class for free and learn useful exercises to help with balance and mobility.
  • Parkinson’s Support Group: Residents with Parkinson’s can meet with others living a similar lifestyle and learn beneficial techniques for coping with Parkinson’s.
  • Jazzercise: Join the jazzercise workout class on Monday nights or Friday mornings for a fun way to bring some physical activity into your week.
  • Mahjong: Meet other residents while keeping your mind sharp with afternoon Mahjong sessions on Tuesdays.

You can find a full list of weekly activities online. Some activities require registration beforehand, which our caregivers can help you with if you’re interested.
