Meet Our Staff at Visiting Angels Frankenmuth

Karen L. Martin - Founder

RN, CCM, CGCM, WOCN 

Karen Martin had been working in the healthcare field since 1980 and established Visiting Angels in the Great Lakes Bay Region of Michigan in January of 2000. Despite Karen passing in April 2020 after battling dementia, her legacy of helping others will continue for many years to come through her Visiting Angels family.

BBA, CSA Certified Senior Advisor

Doug has been with Visiting Angels since 2007. Doug started as the Operations Manager and is now President. Doug handles many Administrator tasks as well as marketing, public speaking, and working with clients and caregivers.

Doug graduated from Northwood University in 2008 with a Bachelor’s degree focusing on Management. To better understand senior issues and their needs in 2013, Doug took and passed the Certified Senior Advisor course. The knowledge learned in the CSA class has assisted Doug in helping families find the resources or get the referrals that they need.

Doug also serves on the Alzheimer’s Association Saginaw Walk to End Alzheimer’s board since 2013 and also volunteers for the Alzheimer’s Association as an advocate working with state and federally elected officials

Heidi Bernreuter BBA - Office Manager

Heidi began with Visiting Angels in 2002 and has a been key resource in the Visiting Angels office since starting. Since joining Visiting Angels Heidi has had many different jobs tasks. Currently Heidi handles all payroll, billing, scheduling and many other functions.

Heidi is a Northwood University Alumni with a Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration with a Major of Management/Marketing. Spending time with family is where you will usually find Heidi.

Cheryl Masud - Client Care Manager

Cheryl is a retired Physician Assistant with a background in Nursing. Cheryl has experience in Family Practice, Occupational Health, and Neurosurgery. Cheryl has worked in a variety of settings including multiple hospitals, doctor offices, and private homes. Cheryl joined Visiting Angels first as a caregiver and now oversees the quality of care provided by our caregivers. Having worked as a caregiver with Visiting Angels gives her a valuable insight into the challenges and also the rewards of what it means to be a caregiver. Cheryl is a Michigan State graduate with a Bachelor's degree in Nursing and also a Central Michigan graduate with a Masters degree of Science as a Physician Assistant. 

Ann Rittmueller - Scheduling Coordinator

Ann began working with Visiting Angels in 2025. She graduated from Ross Medical School as a Medical Assistant and has a background in administration roles in healthcare. Ann is working for Visiting Angels as a scheduler and loves helping clients and caregivers in this role. Ann loves spending time with family and friends. She loves cooking, reading, music, and comedy.

Brandon Krick - Human Resources Coordinator 

Brandon Krick began working at Visiting Angels in September 2023. Brandon currently recruits, interviews, and hires new caregivers. Brandon attended Northern Michigan University with a focus on political science/pre-law. Brandon has worked in Frankenmuth for many years as a manager in the hospitality industry, focusing on marketing, revenue, and office administration. In his free time, Brandon likes to watch sports, attend music events, travel, and spend time with family.
